Tina Anderson, office assistant and media technician at Pleasant Valley Middle School, has been named Southwest Washington classified school employee of the year by Educational Service District 112.

Classified employees are nonteachers, such as secretaries, teacher aides, custodians, maintenance workers or receptionists. ESD 112 covers Clark, Cowlitz, Klickitat, Pacific, Skamania and Wahkiakum counties.

Anderson has worked for Battle Ground Public Schools for 10 years, all of them at Pleasant Valley primary and middle schools.

Winners in each of the state’s nine ESDs are eligible for the state’s top classified employee of the year title, which will be announced in early April.
