ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) — Miss Becca rallied on the far outside to beat Lindz Winz by a nose in the $59,400 Jersey Shore Purse for California-bred fillies and mares on Friday at Santa Anita.

Ridden by Rafael Bejarano, Miss Becca ran 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf in 1:12.83 and paid $5.80, $4 and $3 as the 19-10 favorite.

Lindz Winz returned $6.20 and $4.20, and Abella was another three-quarters of a length back in third and paid $4.60 to show.

Miss Becca had just one horse beat turning for home in the field of nine when Bejarano urged her on. He rode three winners on the card. Miss Becca had been pulled up after losing a shoe in her previous race. Trainer Peter Eurton says Miss Becca is flat-footed and must have her shoes put on close to race day.

The victory, worth $34,800, increased Miss Becca’s career earnings to $82,390, with three wins in six starts.
