JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed offensive tackle William Robinson to contract, keeping him off the free agent market.

Robinson would have become a restricted free agent Tuesday.

Jacksonville claimed the 6-foot-5, 297-pound lineman off waivers from New Orleans on Dec. 29, 2011. He also has spent time with Seattle and Washington.

Originally signed as an undrafted rookie by Seattle in 2008, Robinson has played in one regular-season game and one postseason game. He spent the 2011 preseason with the Seahawks before he was waived in early September. He was signed to the Saints practice squad two days later and was elevated to the active roster on Nov. 15.

Robinson was a four-year letterman at San Diego State.
