PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Forecasters say a strong Pacific front will bring powerful winds, heavy rain and snow in the mountains of Western Oregon.

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a wind advisory for the Willamette Valley and says gusts up to 50 mph are possible in the south and central Valley. Snow levels are expected to drop to 2,000 feet or lower.

Forecasters say cool and wet weather is expected to stick around for several days.

Meteorologists in Medford expect moderate to heavy rain and winds gusting to hurricane force at the South Coast.
