Authorities Sunday night were looking for a hit-and-run driver whose vehicle knocked down a telephone pole in the 9900 block of Northwest 11th Avenue in the West Hazel Dell neighborhood.

The accident happened at 1:42 a.m. Sunday, said Clark County sheriff’s Sgt. Chad Rothenberger. He said it is believed the car was an Audi or a Volkswagen based on bits of plastic found at the scene.

“We don’t have any suspects yet,” Rothenberger said Sunday.

Lillianne Barrett, who lives at 9916 N.W. 11th Ave., sent an email to The Columbian saying, in part, “Huge skid marks. Total mess. Car parts.”
