PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Police believe a suspect in a Portland, Ore., bank robbery has been living under a false identity and eluding Michigan authorities for 28 years.

Steven Wright was arrested and charged with a bank robbery on Monday. Police say he demanded cash but did not display a weapon.

A witness followed Wright and told police he had changed clothes after leaving the bank. He was found with several weapons, including a handgun, pepper spray, a stun gun, brass knuckles and knives.

After booking him, authorities say they determined Wright was wanted on a 1983 warrant for violating parole in Michigan.
