Clark County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man late Tuesday who allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend and threatened to shoot her and a friend.
Deputies responded to the reported assault at 9:25 p.m. at 13809 N.E. 88th St., in the Sifton area north of Orchards. A man fled the scene in a black 1998 Chevy S10 pickup, according to a sheriff’s office press release.
Deputy Phil Walker found the pickup and suspect on Northeast Padden Parkway, west of Northeast 137th Avenue. Because the man was believed to be armed, additional deputies and state patrol troopers were called to shut down the road.
The suspect was taken into custody, said Sgt. Bill Roberts. The road was closed for less than five minutes.
