NEW YORK (AP) — The president of an Oregon investment research firm has pleaded not guilty in New York to securities fraud charges.

John Kinnucan (kuh-NOO’-kun) entered the plea Wednesday in Manhattan, where he made his first appearance after he was arrested in Oregon.

Kinnucan was brought to New York by federal marshals after he failed to win release on $5 million bail.

The president of Broadband Research LLC had bail set after he was recorded making obscenity-laced phone calls to federal agents and prosecutors.

A prosecutor says he’ll turn over evidence to defense attorneys within a month. He says it will include recordings of thousands of phone calls and hundreds of thousands of documents. The next hearing was set for June 18.

Kinnucan’s attorney declined to speak after the court appearance.
