PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — Police say a suicide bomber has killed a senior officer known for his struggle against Islamist militants in northwest Pakistan.

Three other officers were wounded in the attack that killed Kalam Khan in the city of Peshawar on Thursday.

Officer Fazal Wahid says Khan has previously served in the Swat Valley, scene of intense fighting in 2010 between security forces and Islamist militants.
