TWICKENHAM, England (AP) — An official with the World Anti-Doping Agency says doping sanctions should be the same for everyone.

Frederic Donze, WADA’s European director, spoke two days after the British Olympic Association was taken to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to stop it from enforcing lifetime bans on athletes who have served doping suspensions.

The BOA is the only Olympic body to have such a rule, but it could be forced to scrap it before the London Games.

Donze says “WADA’s mandate has always been to harmonize the fight against doping in sport … this is really the rationale behind everything we do.”
