EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Police in Eugene, Ore., say a young man accused of crashing his car into a rehab center had just turned 21.

Officers responding to a crash into the side of Serenity Lane arrested Damien Bittar for investigation of drunken driving.

The Register-Guard says the crash happened just before 1:30 a.m. Thursday — about 90 minutes after the driver officially turned 21.

The substance abuse treatment center’s clinical services director, George Spurny, tells KEZI that the complex wasn’t seriously damaged — “the damage that happened was rhodies and grass.”
