Sheriff: Wash. man calls 911 to say he shot wife

BOTHELL, Wash. (AP) — A Snohomish County sheriff’s officer says a 54-year-old Bothell, Wash., man who called 911 to say he’d just shot his wife has been arrested in the woman’s death.

Sheriff’s Bureau Chief Kevin Prentiss said the man called authorities to his home Wednesday afternoon.

Deputies found a 52-year-old woman dead when they arrived.

The man was not identified. The victim’s identity and a ruling on the cause of death await an autopsy by the county medical examiner’s office.

Sheriff’s detectives are investigating.
