Washington State Patrol troopers on March 6 stopped a truck on Interstate 5 for traffic violations and found 30 pounds of cocaine, officials said.
The patrol declined to comment about whether arrests were made. A spokesman said the investigation is ongoing.
The traffic stop occurred at about 7 a.m. on I-5 north near Milepost 20, just south of Woodland, said Trooper Ryan Tanner, a state patrol spokesman.
Troopers pulled over a 2008 Dodge pickup with California plates. After the stop, they issued a search warrant, a release said.
Troopers then found 30 pounds of cocaine in the truck.
“From my experience, that is a considerable amount of any narcotic, especially cocaine,” Tanner said.
The find’s estimated street value is about $500,000, Tanner said, depending on the location.
