CARSON, Calif. (AP) — The Los Angeles Galaxy and Herbalife have agreed to a 10-year, $44 million contract extension that will keep the global nutrition company as the MLS team’s presenting sponsor and jersey sponsor.
The deal announced Friday runs through the 2022 season.
The Herbalife name will continue to be featured prominently on the Galaxy’s jersey as it has been since 2007. The company first began its relationship with the team in 2005.
As part of the contract extension, $2.5 million will go toward supporting the charitable efforts between the Galaxy’s foundation and the Herbalife Family Foundation to help vulnerable and underserved children. Children’s Institute Inc. will receive a $1 million donation to support fitness and nutrition programs at a new facility it plans in the Watts section of south Los Angeles.
