SCHLADMING, Austria (AP) — Marcel Hirscher of Austria has won the overall World Cup championship, overtaking Beat Feuz of Switzerland with a giant slalom victory.

Hirscher captured Saturday’s final giant slalom of the season to take the discipline title and go to the top of the overall standings.

Hirscher holds a 25-point lead over Beat Feuz, a speed specialist who said he won’t ski Sunday’s slalom, the season’s last race.
