Washington State Patrol will hold a camp for high school juniors and seniors interested in a career in law enforcement in July.

The camp will be held July 8 through 14 at the State Patrol Academy in Shelton.

Applications for the camp are at http://wsp.wa.gov under the “Outreach” tab. They are due May 14.

State patrol and other police departments provide officers and staff members to teach classes and serve as camp counselors. The camp gives students a variety of experiences in federal, state, county and local law enforcement, a state patrol release said.

The camp is sponsored and paid for by Washington Kiwanis clubs and supporters around the state.

Selected applicants can contact the local Kiwanis Club to seek a sponsorship for the $500 cadet fee.
