Indiana’s Watford moves on from Kentucky shot

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Indiana’s Christian Watford will always cherish making the buzzer-beating 3-pointer to beat No. 1 Kentucky in December.

He just thinks it’s time to move on.

The 6-foot-9 forward from Alabama says he’d rather focus on the Hoosiers’ next challenge, beating the Wildcats in Friday’s regional semifinal.

He’ll never cast aside a signature moment at a school that has hung five national championship banners, especially one that has become the signature scene of Indiana’s best season in a decade.

And certainly not after everything these Hoosiers have endured. But after seeing the replay dozens of times on television commercials, highlight shows and even the Hoosiers’ own pregame montage at Assembly Hall, Watford would prefer to concentrate on the future.
