SAO PAULO (AP) — Pele is not happy with Brazil’s national team and believes coach Mano Menezes was wrong to say that Santos forward Neymar needs to move to Europe to improve as a player.
Pele says Brazil hasn’t developed a style under Menezes despite fielding a lot of quality players.
Pele is quoted as saying in the Brazilian daily Marca on Wednesday that Neymar can become the best player in the world while in Brazil. He adds Menezes says otherwise because he “probably doesn’t like Santos.”
Menezes recently said it is important Neymar moves to Europe to gain more respect and develop more rapidly.
