A blown tire caused a Battle Ground driver to lose control of a Ford F-250 pickup and trailer, dumping two towed cars on Interstate 5 south of Chehalis Tuesday morning.
Vladimir Kachankov, 21, was driving northbound in the truck towing three cars when the right trailer tire blew out, Washington State Patrol said in a bulletin.
Kachankov lost control of the truck, swerved to the left shoulder and hit the jersey barrier. The truck and trailer partially rolled causing two of the towed cars to dislodge from the trailer, the state patrol said.
Kachankov was uninjured after the crash, the patrol said.
Left lanes in both directions of I-5 were closed initially, said Trooper Ryan Tanner, a state patrol spokesman. The left southbound lane opened shortly after the wreck but the left northbound lane was closed for about an hour, he said.
