TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — The basketball-playing quadruplets from Ohio have fallen short of winning both a girls and boys state championship in the same season.
The only boy among a set of quadruplets from the rural town of Arlington had hoped to match his sisters with a state title this weekend.
But the Arlington High lost to Berlin Hiland on Thursday in a state semifinal game 46-37, ending their season.
The Recker quadruplets already have made history at their small school in northwest Ohio.
The girls led Arlington to its first state championship in basketball and their brother Thayne helped the boys to their first state tournament in Columbus.
He was the team’s leading scorer all season and in the loss Thursday, finishing with 14 points.
