Vancouver police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed a desk clerk at a hotel Wednesday night.

A man armed with a semi-automatic handgun entered the lobby of the Best Western at 11506 N.E. Third St. — near the intersection of Northeast Chkalov Drive and Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard — and robbed the desk clerk, a Vancouver police bulletin said.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s. He was about 6 feet tall with a stocky build and wore a backwards baseball cap, a dark Adidas jacket, a light-colored hooded sweatshirt, khaki pants and white sneakers, the release said.

The suspect left in a red car similar to a newer Toyota Corolla S, with a rear spoiler.

Anyone with information on the suspect should call Detective Erik Jennings at 360-487-7505.
