ATLANTA (AP) — Xavier forward Dezmine Wells is starting in Friday night’s NCAA South Regional semifinal against Baylor.

Wells’ status was in question after he sprained his right big toe in Sunday’s 70-58 win over Lehigh.

Wells moved without signs of apparent discomfort in Thursday’s practice at the Georgia Dome, but coach Chris Mack said after the session Wells’ status would be a game-time decision.

The 6-foot-5 freshman averaged 10 points and 4.9 rebounds while starting all 31 games for the Musketeers.
