MEXICO CITY (AP) — American forward Herculez Gomez scored on a header in the 74th minute, helping Santos Laguna to a 2-0 win against Queretaro in the Mexican Clausura on Saturday night.
Gomez scored on a header for a two-goal lead, his fifth league goal of the year and eighth overall. He has scored in his last four league matches.
The 29-year-old was a member of the American team at the 2010 World Cup.
