Star of New York wins Big A feature

NEW YORK (AP) — Star of New York edged Manteca by a neck at the end of a stretch battle on Friday in the $69,580 allowance feature at Aqueduct.

Cornelio Velasquez was aboard as the 6-year-old gelding. The time was 1:35.86 for the one mile.

Star of New York paid $7.60, $3.40 and $2.10. Manteca returned $3.10 and $2.10 as the 8-5 favorite. Groomedforvictory paid $2.10 to show, giving trainer Rick Dutrow the first and third finishers in the race.
