A man, 43, was seriously injured Saturday when he fell off a cliff while walking through dark woods near Lewisville Highway, according to Clark County Fire & Rescue.

The man, who was not identified, suffered multi-system trauma in the fall, said Battalion Chief Tim Dawdy. Rescuers had to rig a low-angle system of ropes to get the man up. He was transported by AMR Ambulance to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

The incident began about 8 p.m. when the man was involved in a domestic dispute while in a car on Lewisville Highway, according to Dawdy. The car stopped near Milepost 12 and the man got out and walked off into the woods, where he fell.
