CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Indians are looking for a few more “hits” in social media this season.
The club announced plans Monday to expand its social media base to six platforms, building on its past success of linking with fans through non-traditional methods. Team president Mark Shapiro says the Indians understand the importance of social media as a tool and as a way for the club to “strengthen our brand vision to create memories, connect generations and celebrate families.”
The Indians will again have pages on Facebook and Twitter. This season, the team will have two blogs as well as a presence on Google Plus and Pinterest. In addition, the team will again have its “Social Suite” at Progressive Field, where fans can interact with others online during home games.
