A Vancouver man was in jail Sunday night after reportedly firing a gun outside a restaurant Saturday night.

Theron Dougal, 49, was arrested about 9:30 p.m. for first-degree assault and criminal harassment, said Vancouver Sgt. Mike Chylack.

Chylack said Dougal was at the Tender Green Chinese Kitchen, 12329 N.E. Fourth Plain Road, where he apparently got into a argument. Chylack said the arguing men went outside and Dougal “pulled a gun and shot into the (building’s) overhang. He was gone when we got there.”

Chylack said police found a .380-caliber bullet.

Dougal lives nearby and police took him into custody.

Chylack described the area as a strip mall with a shared overhang. He said he did not know what caused the argument but said there was one “victim” and three or four witnesses.

Bail was not allowed.
