MONROE, Wash. (AP) — A Monroe man shot by a Snohomish County sheriff’s deputy is in serious condition at a Seattle hospital.
Harborview Medical Center spokeswoman Susan Gregg says the 49-year-old is in the intensive care unit Tuesday.
A spokesman for the team investigating the shooting, Everett police Sgt. Ryan Dalberg, says deputies responded to a disturbance before 11 p.m. Monday at a home near Monroe. The man’s mother said her son was distraught and violent.
Dalberg says the man emerged from shadows outside the home with a knife and refused orders to stop. Dalberg says he was simultaneously stunned with a Taser and shot multiple times.
