Cape Horn-Skye announces Super Citizens

Several students were selected as “Super Citizens” at Cape Horn-Skye Elementary School for the month of February.

They include the following students:

Kindergarten, citizenship

Kayla Harvey, Damon Hughes, Jack Jones, Brayden Kassel, Keagan Payne and Mara Newcomer.

First- through fifth-grade, reading and language arts

First-grade: Alyssa Harness, Brooke McNealy, Jayden mcGrath and Shylah Pratt, Hailey Smith, Lance Wall, Ted Domurat and Landyn Brown.

First and second grade blend: Xavier Womelsdorf, Alex Holden, Ava Baumgartner and Nick Hoorn.

Second grade: Abigail Wall, Harrison Tanner, Jaiden Bea, Ashley King, Gavin Keyser, Hannah Holland, Alexis Perry, Julianne Baker and Alexandria LaCorte.

Third-grade: Emma Ellard, Eliza Evensen, Shane Gola, Denny O’Harra, Anna Mason, Maddox Edwards, Charlotte Baker, Michael Peck and Kyana Yun.

Third- and fourth-grade blend: Hadley Warta, Katie Mcneil, Shayla Womelsdorf, Eli Mitchell-Hopmeier and Zeke Mitchell-Hopmeier.

Fourth-grade: Aria Yang, Bailee Forsberg, Jed Wills, Simon Krasnogorov, Jenny Mariscal, Eric Brown, Judson Mansfield, Conrad Jones, Dylan Davis, Jake Glaeser and Tyler Johnston.

Fourth-fifth grade blend: Sage Blackwell, Myla Grant, Sam Shiluk and Chris Lott.

Fifth-grade: Tyler Drake, Julia Kirkham and Sarah Oster.

Local woman featured in WSU art show

Kathi Rick of Camas will be one of the artists featured in Washington State University Vancouver’s “LOUD and Clear” exhibit. It includes a month-long showing beginning Friday, April 6. It is a collaboration between WSU Vancouver’s creative media & digital culture program and the North Bank Artists Gallery.

Along with art, visitors to the gallery will see videos, 3D animation, video and sound installations, and radio art by Rick and others.

A launch party will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 6.

The exhibit and other performances will take place throughout the rest of the month.

Camas students earn dean’s list honors

Several local students were named to the Seattle Pacific University autumn quarter dean’s list. To be named to the list, students must earn at least a 3.5 GPA and complete 12 graded credits.

They include: Olivia Christine Clements, Martin Jensen Horn, Jason David Jay, Natalie Skye Longley, Rachel Elizabeth Stenberg and William Gale VanCuren, all of Camas.

Cole named to dean’s list

Athena Cole of Camas has been named to the dean’s list at Cornell University for the fall 2011 semester.

She was awarded with “excellence in scholarship” for the college of arts and sciences.

Local student graduates from Concordia

Molly Sien of Camas has earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Concordia University.

She graduated in December 2011.
