NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey center Shelden Williams left the Nets’ game against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night after being poked in the right eye in the second quarter.

Williams walked immediately to the locker room after being fouled by Tyler Hansbrough with 7:44 left in the half and did not return. The team announced before the end of the half that he would not return because of a “right eye injury.”

Williams had four points and five rebounds before being hurt. His injury left the injury-ravaged Nets with nine players. Guards Jordan Farmar (groin) and Anthony Morrow (shoulder) both missed their second straight game.
