UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) — The New York Islanders have agreed to terms with veteran goalie John Grahame for the rest of this season.
The Islanders announced the deal with the 36-year-old Grahame on Thursday, hours before they hosted the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second half of a home-and-home series.
No. 1 New York goalie Evgeni Nabokov is sidelined by an undisclosed lower body injury. Al Montoya made the start against the Penguins, and call-up Kevin Poulin served as his backup. Grahame will be eligible to play in the Islanders’ last five games.
