Letter: Tax exemption badly abused

The Columbian
Published: March 28, 2012, 5:00pm

It would be interesting to know exactly how many people cross the river to shop in Vancouver. Most that I see with Oregon license plates appear to live in Vancouver and they are cheating the system by getting away with paying no sales tax.

They are using our roads, our schools and our services while we, who are following the rules, get to pay for them. I am really sorry that a tax exemption for residents of Oregon has been allowed to stand so long.
