SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Spokane has set a record for the wettest March since record-keeping began in 1881.

The Lilac City had received 3.89 inches of rain in March as of Thursday afternoon, breaking the record of 3.81 inches set in 1995. And it was still raining in Spokane on Friday.

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service said the cities of Hoquiam, Olympia and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport broke single-day rainfall records on Thursday. Bellingham fell just short of setting a record.
