Woman died in house fire at Moxee

MOXEE, Wash. (AP) — Police say a woman died in a house fire early Thursday in Moxee, in the Yakima Valley.

A police officer who was one of the first emergency responders to arrive abouat 4 a.m. found a man collapsed outside the front door, suffering from smoke inhalation. He said there was a woman still inside.

The officer and a neighbor pulled the man to safety. The officer was unable to enter the burning house. Firefighters found the woman’s body.
