Kershaw, Kennedy struggle in final spring starts

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Aces Clayton Kershaw and Ian Kennedy both struggled in their final spring tuneups, and the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated an Arizona Diamondbacks split squad 9-3 Saturday.

Kershaw, the reigning NL Cy Young Award winner, gave up three runs, six hits and a walk in 3 2-3 innings for the Dodgers.

Kennedy worked five innings allowed three runs on five hits and a walk.

Outfielder Matt Angle hit a two-run homer and shortstop Justin Sellers had two RBIs for Los Angeles. Ronald Belsiario pitched 1 1-3 perfect innings to pick up the win.

Jason Kubel connected on a two-run home run for Arizona. Craig Breslow, gave up three runs in an inning for the loss.
