Strasburg goes 4 innings in tuneup for opening day

VIERA, Fla. (AP) — Stephen Strasburg pitched four innings in his tuneup to start on opening day for the Washington Nationals in a 6-2 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday.

Strasburg allowed three runs, two of them earned, all in the second inning. He gave up five hits overall, striking out three and walking one.

Strasburg finished spring training with a 1-4 record. He’ll start on April 5 against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Cardinals starter Jake Westbrook gave up one run and two hits in 5 2-3 innings.

Daniel Descalso doubled twice and drove in four runs. Chad Tracy homered for Washington.
