MOSCOW (AP) — Dmitry Pirog has extended his unbeaten record to 20-0 by defeating Nobuhiro Ishida by unanimous decision to defend his WBO middleweight title.

Pirog has held the title since July 2010 and was never seriously troubled by Ishida in Moscow on Tuesday night.

The Russian is hoping for a showdown with IBF champion Daniel Geale of Australia. However, WBO president Francisco Valcarcel said in a statement that his organization has not sanctioned a unification bout.
