OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — The Washington Department of Transportation is selling 21 surplus properties.

The Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce reports (http://is.gd/GfnKft ) the largest is 39 acres in Skagit County near the Whatcom County line. Another is on top of the Interstate 90 tunnel in Seattle, and one next to Interstate 82 in downtown Yakima.

Twelve of the properties will be sold in a May 30 sealed-bid auction. Nine other parcels previously offered at auction are available for a minimum bid price.

The Transportation Department plans another auction this fall and says it has identified 283 parcels that may be auctioned over the next six years.
