ST. LOUIS (AP) — Saint Louis announced Friday that Lisa Stone is the new women’s basketball coach.

Stone succeeds Shimmy Gray-Miller, who was let go in March. The Billikins went 11-20 this season and were 71-136 in Gray-Miller’s seven years at the school.

Stone coached at Wisconsin for eight seasons before being fired in March 2011. She was 128-119 as coach of the Badgers and the Big Ten coach of the year in 2009-10. She led the team to the NCAA tournament in 2010, but Wisconsin lost in the opening round to Vermont.

She has a 503-237 record in 26 years as a college head coach. Her hiring was first reported by The Associated Press on Thursday.
