SEATTLE (AP) — The Washington state Patrol is investigating allegations that a Joint Base Lewis McChord soldier lured under girls through Facebook and blackmailed them into giving up nude pictures.

The state Patrol says the 24-year-old soldier is currently stationed overseas.

Investigators have identified at least 10 victims, all girls between the ages of 13 and 17 years old in the Pierce County area.

Investigators say the soldier began contacting girls about 10 months ago while stationed here and the contact continued through his deployment. They say there is reason to believe he had some in-person contact with some of the girls.

Authorities became aware of the soldier’s conduct after a high school girl told her parents in late April the man was demanding nude photos.
