RICHLAND, Wash. (AP) — A Richland, Wash., man says he’s been told that his three labradoodle dogs were fatally shot shortly after they escaped from the backyard of his home.

The Tri-City Herald reports (http://is.gd/LHzT53) that Paul Boese says Tri-Cities Animal control told him last weekend the dogs were shot by someone in West Richland the day they disappeared. That was about two weeks ago.

Boese told the newspaper he hasn’t been told who killed the dogs or why it took so long to notify him.

He says one of the Labrador-poodle mixes had a gift of alerting him and his wife when their son was going to have a seizure.
