NEW YORK (AP) — ABC and Yahoo are using the drama “Revenge” as a laboratory to tap the power of second-screen usage.

Yahoo has created a smartphone and tablet application designed to make it easier for fans of the show to communicate through social networks while “Revenge” is airing live.

People who use the app while watching the show’s final two episodes of the season later this month will be eligible for a free trip to the Hamptons this summer. That’s the New York beach area where the show is set.

For ABC, encouraging people to use computer devices while watching TV could help arrest the decline in live viewing caused by DVRs and video on demand.
