Knicks’ Lin not willing to risk a knee setback

MIAMI (AP) — Knicks guard Jeremy Lin says he tried to play at 100 percent earlier this week, and knew right away that his surgically repaired left knee was not ready.

And in this case, he figured close isn’t close enough.

Already ruled out for the remainder of the New York-Miami playoff series — which may end Wednesday night anyway — Lin says having to watch his team play without him for the past month “has been a tough process.”

Lin says he’s about 85 percent healed from the surgery, and at one time thought there may have been a chance to return in this series. He says he had no setbacks, but that the final stages of the healing process are simply taking longer than he anticipated.
