Battle Ground — The Captain Strong Primary School “Math is Cool” team won the regional competition at Fort Vancouver High School in April. The team was comprised of fourth-graders in the “Aspire” program for highly capable students from across the Battle Ground school district. Math whizzes Charlie Tripp, Matthew Palmateer, Erik Ronning and Ali Nylund won individual honors and advanced to the Masters State competition in Moses Lake on May 19. Because Nylund is unable to attend the state competition, Nathan Lipovich is going in her place.
