SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A 54-year-old Washington state man with reported ties to white supremacists has been sentenced to 13 years on a federal weapons charge.

According to court testimony, Wayde L. Kurt had told associates he was saving for a “final solution” that would include a bombing bigger than the 1995 Oklahoma City blast.

He was sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Judge Frem Nielsen.

The Spokesman Review reports (http://is.gd/LchgsX ) that Kurt this week disputed testimony by federal agents and said he had no plans to kill President Barack Obama or blow up a federal building.

Calling Obama “the best thing since Skippy peanut butter,” Kurt told the court, “He’s done more damage than 1,000 terrorists.”
