NEW YORK (AP) — A new documentary about the Dream Team will include never-before-seen footage of the game it lost — on purpose, one coach suspects.

Airing June 13 on NBA TV, “The Dream Team” celebrates the 20th anniversary of the 1992 Olympic men’s basketball champions, often considered the greatest basketball team ever. It features interviews with all 12 members, including Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird.

Untouched in the Olympics, the Americans actually lost a scrimmage against a select group of college stars including Grant Hill, Chris Webber and Bobby Hurley. The footage shows Hurley tearing through the U.S. defense, leading the collegians to a 62-54 victory.

Current U.S. coach Mike Krzyzewski, then an assistant, says he thought coach Chuck Daly “threw the game” so the Americans knew they could lose.
