TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — A Tacoma family was held hostage for hours Thursday night while two armed men ransacked their home for cash and valuables.

The couple, Remegio and Norma Fernandez, told KIRO-TV(http://is.gd/ojKIVq ) they were watching TV when two masked men broke in through a glass door. They took wedding rings off their fingers, cash their adult daughter was saving for a trip and other valuables.

During the robbery, the men communicated by two-way radio with a woman who apparently was the getaway driver.

Remegio Fernandez says he escaped the house at one point, but one of the men chased him down, beat him up and brought him back inside. Norma Fernandez says she feared for her life and was praying the men would just leave.
