ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — After leading Boise State to 50 victories in college, quarterback Kellen Moore wasn’t picked in last month’s draft.
He signed on with the Detroit Lions as a free agent and is in camp this weekend trying to make an impression.
The 6-foot, 197-pound Moore will have to overcome concerns about his size and arm strength now that he’s trying to make it in the pros, but nobody can question the poise he showed while completing nearly 74 percent of his passes in his final collegiate season.
Moore says a lot of athletes like to view themselves as underdogs, and that shouldn’t be a problem for him.
The Lions already have quarterbacks Matthew Stafford and Shaun Hill, but Drew Stanton left as a free agent this offseason.
