CINCINNATI (AP) — Right fielder Bryce Harper was in the Washington Nationals’ lineup Saturday night, a day after he needed 10 stitches to close a wound above his left eye that was the result of an angry outburst.

Harper slammed his bat against a wall in the dugout tunnel after making an out during a 7-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds. The barrel of the bat deflected off the wall and hit him above the eye, leaving a gash and a welt.

Harper said on Saturday that he didn’t have a headache or any problem with his vision. There was still a welt covered by a bandage. The 19-year-old rookie didn’t want to talk about the embarrassing moment, hoping to move on from it, and said he’ll be more careful about venting frustrations.
