LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Colorado Rockies have optioned left-hander Drew Pomeranz to Triple-A Colorado Springs and recalled lefty Josh Outman from their top minor league club.
The 23-year-old Pomeranz is 0-2 with a 4.70 ERA in five starts. He came to the Rockies in a July 2011 multiplayer trade that sent Ubaldo Jimenez to the Cleveland Indians.
Rockies manager Jim Tracy says “there are a couple of things in relation to Drew’s delivery that we need to get cleaned up.”
The Rockies also said Friday that right-hander Jeremy Guthrie, sidelined since April 23 because of a shoulder sprain, will be activated from the disabled list on Tuesday to start at San Francisco. Tracy said Guthrie came through Thursday’s rehab start for Class-A Modesto “with flying colors.”
